MBTA: Blue Line worker injured while performing  maintenance work near Revere Beach Station A Blue Line worker was injured early Thursday morning while performing scheduled maintenance work on the catenary system, according to the MBTA. The incident occurred near Revere Beach Station just before 1 a.m., transit officials say. The worker is receiving treatment for non-life-threatening injuries. The T says an investigation into why this happened is underway.At the start of service, shuttle buses replaced Blue Line trains until approximately 7 a.m. Thursday, when train service was restored between Orient Heights and Bowdoin stations. Shuttle buses remain in place between Orient Heights and Wonderland as of 12 p.m. while crews continue repairs near Revere Beach Station.MBTA officials say the Department of Public Utilities and the Federal Transit Administration were notified of the incident. About 100,000 nurses left the workforce due to pandemic-related burnout and stress, survey finds (CNN) — About 100,000 registered nurses in the US left the workplace due to the stresses of the Covid-19 pandemic, according to the results of a survey published Thursday by the National Council of State Boards of Nursing.Another 610,388 registered nurses, who had more than 10 years of experience and an average age of 57, said they planned to leave the workforce by 2027 because of stress, burnout or retirement. The same was true of 189,000 additional nurses with 10 or fewer years of experience and an average age of 36.The survey found that there were over 5.2 million active registered nurses and 973,788 licensed practical nurses or vocational nurses in the US in 2022. The researchers analyzed data from 29,472 registered and advanced nurses and more than 24,000 licensed practical or vocational nurses across 45 states. California State Capitol building evacuated due to (KTXL) -- The California State Capitol building in downtown Sacramento has been evacuated Thursday morning, according to a FOX40 news team and political reporters that were at the building and posted about the situation on Twitter. “The California Highway Patrol has notified the Senate of a threat they consider to be credible involving the Capitol,” says a letter that was sent to state senators and senate staff. The letter also advises state senators and staff who have not yet reported to work to remain home and work remotely. Senators and staffers already at the Capitol were asked to remain in place. Birthing center at Roseville hospital struck by gunfire "CHP and security partners are present in higher numbers in the Capitol area, and are alert of the situation," the letter continues.
