The Gophers football program added a local commitment from Eden Prairie defensive lineman Mo Saine on Friday.“I would like to thank Coach (P.J.) Fleck and all the other coaches for giving me the opportunity to play for my home state,” Saine wrote on Twitter. “I look forward to doing big things here!”Saine, who is listed at 6-foot-5 and 270 pounds, had scholarship offers from Kansas, Kansas State and Iowa State among others. (BCN) -- A Santa Clara City Council member has been charged with perjury for allegedly lying to a civil grand jury about leaking a report critical of the relationship between the council and the San Francisco 49ers football team, prosecutors said Friday. Councilman Anthony Becker is accused of leaking a then-secret Santa Clara County Civil Grand Jury Report to a 49ers employee last October and then lying while under oath to the civil grand jury about the leak, according to the Santa Clara County District Attorney's Office. (KRON) -- A man was grazed by a bullet during an overnight shooting Friday, the San Mateo Police Department said in a press release. The shooting happened around 12:58 a.m. on the unit block of 37th Avenue. Suspects accused of killing 5-year-old girl believed they were shooting at rival gang car: DA The victim, an unidentified 26-year-old man, had a minor scrape on his ankle after being grazed by a gunshot, according to the release. The shooting was an "isolated and targeted" incident, according to San Mateo police. No suspect(s) have been arrested. San Mateo police did not provide any information about any possible suspects. (KRON) -- A suspect was taken into custody on Thursday after a Vallejo woman was shot on April 4, the Vallejo Police Department said. The shooting happened at about 2:19 a.m. on the 100 block of Rounds Street. The pregnant victim was taken to a local hospital, received medical attention and gave birth to the baby, police said. (KRON) -- The Richardson Bay Regional Agency’s Board of Directors unanimously voted to reinstate the vessel buyback program to help incentivize boaters to move off environmentally sensitive waters.Originally adopted in June 2022, the Vessel Buyback Program offers money based on the length of their boat ($150 per foot) to move vessels off an established Eelgrass Protection Zone and other parts of Richardson Bay. An agreement reached between the RBRA and the Bay Conservation and Development Commission calls for removal of all illegally anchored vessels from Richardson Bay by 2026.Rather than relying on enforcement to remove vessels, the Vessel Buyback Program incentivizes vessel or floating homeowners to transfer their property to the RBRA. DENVER (KDVR) -- The Colorado Avalanche won the Central Division Friday night with a 4-3 win over the Nashville Predators in the final game of the regular season.Devon Toews scored 30 seconds into the game and Nathan MacKinnon scored a hat trick to win home-ice advantage for the first round of the playoffs. Friday's game was a makeup from an originally scheduled game on Nov. 26 that was postponed due to a water main break at Bridgestone Arena.
